Order Printer Pro Now Sends E-Invoices via Peppol

Sending compliant B2B e-invoices used to mean juggling separate portals, extra software, and manual data entry. Not anymore.

The E-Invoicing & Peppol add-on for Order Printer Pro is now live. If you sell to other businesses, you can generate structured XML invoices and send compliant e-invoices straight to the Peppol network, all from your Shopify admin. No separate portals, no third-party tools, no manual data entry.

And we didn't just ship what we promised. We shipped more.

Why This Matters

Across Europe, B2B e-invoicing is moving from "nice to have" to "required." Governments increasingly expect structured, machine-readable invoices instead of PDFs or paper, and the rest of the world is heading the same way.

The practical problem for merchants is that meeting these rules usually means stitching together extra software, accountants, and government portals. The whole point of this add-on is to remove that friction: the format, the compliance, and the delivery all happen inside the tool you already use to print invoices.

What You Get

The add-on gives you two capabilities. Use one, or use both.

1. Unlimited XML E-Invoice Export

Generate structured XML invoices for any order, directly from your Shopify admin. These files carry everything your customer's accounting software needs to import an invoice automatically: full seller and buyer details, line items, per-line and per-invoice tax breakdowns, totals, currency, dates, discounts, and payment terms.

XML export is unlimited and available to merchants everywhere, not just in the EU. If your B2B customers prefer data files over PDFs, this alone is a meaningful upgrade to their experience.

2. Peppol Network Delivery

For merchants in countries where Peppol is the expected channel, Order Printer Pro sends compliant e-invoices straight to the network. Your business is registered and verified inside the app, and from there your invoices travel securely to your customers' systems.

Now Fully EN 16931 Compliant: UBL and CII

When we first announced the add-on, CII support was still on the roadmap. It's now live.

EN 16931, the European e-invoicing standard, allows two technical formats: UBL (Universal Business Language) and CII (Cross Industry Invoice). Order Printer Pro now supports both:

  • Peppol UBL (BIS 3.0) — the dominant format across the Peppol network and most of the world.
  • CII (UN/CEFACT) — the format behind ZUGFeRD and Factur-X, and the second permitted syntax for XRechnung in Germany.

In practice, this means the add-on now speaks the formats favored in markets like Germany and France as well as those used across Belgium, the Netherlands, and Scandinavia. Whatever your customer's system expects, you're covered.

Six Countries Supported at Launch

Peppol delivery is available for merchants based in:

Country Code
Belgium BE
Netherlands NL
Denmark DK
Germany DE
Norway NO
Sweden SE

If your business is registered in one of these six countries, you can send Peppol invoices to any participating nation on the network. We focused the initial rollout on these markets to guarantee a fully compliant, rock-solid experience, and our team is already working on expanding to more countries.

Built Into Your Workflow

Everything happens in the new E-Invoicing Hub inside your Shopify admin.

  • Send one or many. Transmit a single invoice from an order, or select multiple orders and send them through the network in one batch.
  • Know what's ready. The Hub flags which orders contain the B2B data needed to send, so nothing fails silently. You add a customer's Company Name, VAT number, and Peppol address once, and the rest is automatic. If you don't have a Peppol address on file, the system will attempt delivery using the VAT number.
  • Track delivery. Statuses update live, so you can see when an invoice is confirmed as Peppol sent.
  • Handle refunds properly. Issued a refund? Send a matching Peppol credit note in a couple of clicks to keep every transaction compliant and accurately reflected in your customer's accounting system.

Pricing

The E-Invoicing & Peppol add-on is $10/month, added to your existing Order Printer Pro subscription.

  • XML exports: Unlimited
  • Peppol invoices: 25 included free every month
  • Additional Peppol invoices: $0.10 each, and you're only charged for what you actually send

The add-on sits on top of any base Order Printer Pro plan (Free, Starter, Growth, or Scale).

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does the E-Invoicing & Peppol add-on cost?

It helps reduce confusion, speeds up fulfillment, and gives customers a professional, trustworthy experience.

Can I print international orders directly from Shopify?

It's $10/month on top of your existing Order Printer Pro subscription. That includes unlimited XML exports and 25 free Peppol invoices each month. Beyond that, additional Peppol invoices are $0.10 each, billed only for what you actually send. The add-on works with any base plan — Free, Starter, Growth, or Scail.

Which countries can I send Peppol invoices from?

Peppol delivery is currently open to merchants based in six countries: Belgium, the Netherlands, Denmark, Germany, Norway, and Sweden. If you're registered in one of these, you can send Peppol invoices to any participating country on the network.

Do I need to be in the EU to use this?

Not for XML export. Producing structured XML invoices has no usage cap and isn't limited to the EU — it's open to merchants anywhere. Peppol network delivery, however, is currently limited to the six supported countries listed above.

How long does business verification take?

Verification usually completes within 48 hours. After you enter your VAT/Tax ID and Enterprise Number and hit Complete Verification, your status will flip to "Registered & Verified," and you can start sending e-invoices directly from your orders.

What happens if my customer doesn't have a Peppol address on file?

The system will attempt delivery using the customer's VAT number instead. You only need to enter a customer's Company Name, VAT number, and Peppol address once, and everything after that is automatic.
